Welcome to yet another UK nature blog!
I may as well introduce myself to start this off. My name's Rob and although I've been interested in natural history most of my life, it's only been the last year and a bit that I've started regularly going nature-watching. I live in central London and generally speaking I spend my weekends visiting the wilder parts of south east England to get my little wilderness fix. Don't expect anything fancy. My writing style is awful, my photo's aren't much better and I'm liable to go off on unrelated tangents. I'm mainly into birds and inverts and occasionally the plantlife too. My intention is to go beyond basic identification and learn more about the life-cycles, behaviour and ecology of the various organisms. So as well as the typical crap photos of blue tits seen while wandering, I'm hoping to make posts on various subjects from whatever books I've read or free papers have caught my eye on PlosOne etc. I have no formal education in biology either so when I inevitably get something wrong, please comment and disabuse me of my misconceptions!
